EAST LANSING -- Last season was a record-setting one in many regards for the Michigan State passing game. Quarterback Brian Lewerke set a single-game records for passing yards, and set just about every sophomore record in the book.
But one offensive group missed out on most of that action: tight ends.
Michigan State's tight ends totaled 26 catches for 263 yards last year. That's the lowest season output for a group of Michigan State tight ends under Mark Dantonio in terms of yards and tied for the lowest in terms of catches.
The fact that the tight ends were largely left behind as the passing game took off wasn't lost on its most senior member.
