EAST LANSING -- Michigan State played on Saturday in an empty arena against a Gonzaga team Tom Izzo called "awfully good."
Now, the Spartans will close out their preseason by opening the doors to the Breslin Center and taking on Izzo's alma mater, Northern Michigan.
Michigan State moves on from a weekend scrimmage loss against the Bulldogs and on to their only public exhibition game of 2018-19, a Tuesday night game contest against NMU (7 p.m., BTN Plus).
After his team's Monday practice, Izzo said he was encouraged by how well his team played with Gonzaga but lamented some familiar problems: turnovers and foul trouble.
