Michigan State swimmer finds water he loves also is force of destruction in Midland

Nehemiah Mork’s college swimming career ended abruptly, as did that of many athletes this winter.

The Michigan State senior helped set a pair of school relay records at the Big Ten championships in late February before returning home to Midland a few weeks later amid the coronavirus shutdown.

He turned 22 on April 8, finished his degree in mechanical engineering May 3 with a 4.0 grade-point average, and earned numerous academic honors that had to be celebrated from afar.
