Michigan State spring game will remain offense vs. defense

EAST LANSING - Following a weekend off for Easter, Michigan State returned to practice on Tuesday.

It was the 12th of 15 allotted spring practices for the Spartans since starting on Feb. 27. So, what has been the biggest area of improvement after more than a month?

"Tough to say," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said as Tuesday's practice was beginning inside the Duffy Daugherty Building. "We're not playing against anybody."

At this point last year, the Spartans were attempting to rebound from a 3-9 finish in 2016. They did that by going 10-3 to set a program record for the biggest single-season improvement at seven wins.
