The team in Ann Arbor may have the bigger stadium, but the Michigan State Spartans easily outdrew their in-state rival when it comes to spring game attendance.
According to MLive.com, MSU drew a crowd of 51,000 last Saturday, good for seventh in the country in spring game attendance. The Spartans crowd was also a school record. Michigan? The Wolverines drew 35,000.
Head Coach Mark Dantonio said the winningest class in school history deserved the credit for the record turnout:
"People come to watch winners, because that's the way the world is, and you've set that standard in terms of what you've been able to accomplish.
