First Things First: Tom Izzo wants to succeed Mike Krzyzewski.
Krzyzewski, the head coach at Duke, told ESPN on Tuesday that the upcoming 2016 summer Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, will be his last time coaching the United States men's basketball national team.
His resume since taking over the position in 2005 includes two Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012, as well as the 2010 world championship and the 2014 World Cup.
Izzo once considering coaching the national team a dream in 2012 to the Detroit Free Press, but now feels pessimistic that managing director Jerry Colangelo will give him the reigns.
