Defense Edges Offense in First Preseason Scrimmage, 27-24 - Michigan State Athletics
The defense beat the offense, 27-24, in the first jersey scrimmage of preseason camp Thursday in Spartan Stadium. With the first scrimmage now out of the way, the Spartans can really start to tighten the depth chart and figure out which players will be have big roles this coming season.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio liked what he saw in the Spartans' first scrimmage of camp. "At a couple positions, our 2's are our 1's, and our 1's are our 2's, so that's a positive," Dantonio said.
