East Lansing – Michigan State running back Austin Andrews announced on Friday he is transferring, just a week away from the Spartans’ season-opener.
The redshirt sophomore from Columbus, Ohio, came to Michigan State in 2016 as a three-star cornerback. After redshirting his first season, he played in only one game last season and was suspended for Michigan State’s Holiday Bowl victory over Washington State.
“After much thought and prayer about my future, I’ve decided to transfer from Michigan State University,” Andrews said in a post on Twitter. “I truly want to say thank you for all those who’ve been there for me and helped me get this far.
