Reeling in one of the top defensive line class in 2016, Mark Dantonio is looking to have the same luck in 2017. Offering Zachary Carter from Tampa, Fla., is a good start, but the Spartans may have jumped into the race a little late.
The big four-star strong-side defensive end has over 40 offers and it’s looking like he might stay in-state for college. Florida is the favorite right now, but schools like Miami and even Clemson are making a strong push for him.
Carter is ranked the No. 100 overall prospect in the 2017 class as well as the fourth-best strong-side defensive end, according to the 247Sports‘ composite.
