Michigan State punter Jake Hartbarger to miss rest of season

EAST LANSING – Mark Dantonio said he expects punter Jake Hartbarger to miss the rest of the season for Michigan State.

Dantonio said Tuesday that his fourth-year punter, who injured his right leg at Arizona State on Sept. 8, would be at risk to swing his punting leg if not fully healthy.

Hartbarger and MSU are expected to seek a medical redshirt, which would allow the senior to return for a sixth season. The Waterville, Ohio, native redshirted as a true freshman in 2014.

MSU has been using Tyler Hunt to punt the past two weeks after the redshirt freshman shared duties at Indiana with walk-on Bryce Baringer.
