Michigan State linebacker Tyriq Thompson's arrest for a misdemeanor noise violation stemmed from his "lackluster attempts" to get people to leave a loud house party, according to police.
According to a police report obtained by MLive, East Lansing police were dispatched about complaints of a loud house party shortly before midnight on Sept. 1. They approached Thompson in the front yard of the house, which he acknowledged was his residence.
Thompson's name is redacted from the report, police say, because he has not pled guilty or been convicted of a crime.
East Lansing police estimated about 100 people were located outside the house and suggested Thompson turn off the music playing from inside and ask his guests to leave.
