News broke on Friday evening that MSU has received its second commitment of the 2026 football recruiting class. Kayd Coffman, a quarterback from East Kentwood High School just south of Grand Rapids, made his announcement that he will be joining the Green & White. Coffman just completed his junior season where he had a stat line of 1,456 yards passing to go with ten TDs against just one interception. He also contributed 239 yards rushing and two more scores on the ground. On3 gives Coffman a 4-star ranking and has him as the 22nd-ranked QB in this cycle.

Coffman joins Joey Caudill from Ohio as the second piece of this class, giving MSU a pair of offensive players to continue building around.
