The Michigan State Spartans hosted in-state regular the Oakland Grizzlies Sunday afternoon and mimicked the football team in the sense of making it a tale of “two halves.” However, the poor performance was the first half, and MSU made adjustments and put the Grizzlies away big time in the second. The Spartans moved to 19-0 all-time against Oakland with a 109-91 victory at the Breslin Center.
The first half was a tale of turnovers and ball control. While the Spartans managed an impressive 43.8 percent shooting from three-point range, MSU coughed up the ball far too much with 12 total turnovers that led to 11 points for Oakland and a 33 percent turnover rate.
