Michigan State-Oregon observations: MSU offense still struggling

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Here are halftime observations from Levi’s Stadium, where Michigan State and Oregon are tied 0-0 in the Redbox Bowl.

Different, but same

MSU football coach Mark Dantonio said before the game, "We need to have production. There's no question that to win football games, you need to score points."

So far, not so good.

The Spartans, who got QB Brian Lewerke and RB LJ Scott back from injury, came out with a overhauled offensive approach. They employed the pistol formation, with Scott lined up behind Lewerke in the shotgun.
