EAST LANSING - When Michigan State opened fall camp last season, coach Mark Dantonio said his team had something to prove.
The message was clear and the reason obvious.
The Spartans were coming off a 3-9 season - one year after winning a Big Ten title and reaching the College Football Playoff. So, they flipped it.
Michigan State rebounded to finish 10-3 and set a program record for the biggest single-season improvement at seven wins. The Spartans practiced for the first time of fall camp on Thursday morning and the feeling was different than a year ago.
