EAST LANSING -- Michigan State's veteran defensive players have said for years they suspect the offense is "supposed" to win the second spring scrimmage, even if coach Mark Dantonio claims he has no control over the result.
That theory could be put to the test today with the Spartans holding their second closed scrimmage at Spartan Stadium.
Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook, who was intercepted twice in the first scrimmage -- a scrimmage won by the defense -- said he's convinced the Spartans will be salty on the defensive side of the ball.
"I had some second thoughts and some questions, and I think everyone had questions (about the defense) coming into spring, but how they've been playing .
