Michigan State notes: Mike Sadler, Sam Foltz honored and Antjuan Simmons at RB

LINCOLN, Neb. - Michigan State has been without its top running back most of the season.

Senior LJ Scott has played only four games and is staying out to take advantage of a new NCAA rule and get a redshirt to return in 2019 for a fifth year of eligibility.

Scott's absence due to injury has resulted in the Spartans going with a young backfield most of the season and they added another wrinkle in Saturday's 9-6 loss at Nebraska. Sophomore linebacker Antjuan Simmons made his debut on offense but, on his lone carry, was hit for a 6-yard loss and fumbled, which was recovered by quarterback Rocky Lombardi.
