EAST LANSING - It took until the third game of the season for Michigan State to settle on its top center.
Redshirt sophomore Matt Allen replaced Tyler Higby and one spot on a constantly-changing offensive line was set. But, for less than five full games.
Allen was injured late in a loss to Michigan two weeks ago and didn't dress in last week's win against Purdue. He was wearing a walking boot on his left leg on the sideline.
Michigan State (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) will play at Maryland (5-3, 3-2) on Saturday (noon, ESPN2) and Allen wasn't listed on the updated depth chart released Tuesday.
