EAST LANSING -- Cassius Peat didn't meet the necessary obligations to return to the Michigan State football team, according to coach Mark Dantonio.
The former Spartans defensive lineman revealed over the weekend that after originally planning to reenroll with the program this summer, he was told last week by Mark Dantonio that he would not be allowed to.
Peat said he wasn't given a reason by the program why he was not allowed to rejoin the program after being previously told he could. He said his grades are good and that he was admitted to the school by compliance.
