When Johnathan Williams III announced he would be transferring from Missouri, teams like Michigan State seemed to be at the front of the line to land his services. Now that the recruiting period for the star transfer is coming to an end, it seems like the Spartans are out of the running.
Williams III led the Missouri Tigers in both scoring and rebounding last season, surprising people with his departure from the program, but head coach Frank Haith left the program a season before, even more surprisingly.
There’s no solid reason as to why the Spartans seem to be out of the running for Williams III, but teams like SMU, Georgetown, Gonzaga and now Kansas are coming on strong.
