EAST LANSING -- When Michigan State came out of the locker room for the second half on Wednesday against Louisiana-Monroe, it did so without an injured Nick Ward.
Less than a minute into that half, Joshua Langford was called for his third foul and went to the bench.
That left only one of Michigan State's three junior returning starters on the floor: point guard Cassius Winston.
And it's no coincidence that when he became the only one left, Winston shook off a slow start and took over a game.
Winston went on a two-minute, 45-second tear early in the second half in which he scored 14 points and broke open an eventual 80-59 Michigan State win.
