After going 194 rounds, Michigan State failed to produce a draft pick in the 2016 MLB Draft. In the next 20 rounds we saw not one but two picks as Jordan Zimmerman was selected by the Los Angeles Angels with the 216th pick in the draft. Zimmerman joins Cam Vieaux, who was selected 195th by Pittsburgh.
Zimmerman is a 6’1” junior who transferred to East Lansing from Mesa CC in Arizona this season and immediately started contributing to the team. He finished his first season with Michigan State with an impressive .374 batting average in 219 at bats.
