Rosemont, Ill. — The Big Ten held its annual spring meetings the past two days at its headquarters outside of Chicago and most of the conference’s 14 universities were represented by their athletic directors.
That included Michigan State as interim athletic director Bill Beekman attended two days of meetings.
However, Beekman turned down requests to meet with the media. Since being named interim athletic director on Feb. 5, Beekman has not been made available to the media despite several requests.
Beekman, who has been Michigan State’s vice president and secretary of the Board of Trustees since 20087, was named interim athletic director by interim president John Engler after Mark Hollis announced his retirement on Jan.
