Michigan State injuries mount with LJ Scott added to the list

TEMPE, Ariz. - Michigan State was shorthanded when it arrived in Arizona for its first road trip of the season.

The No. 15 Spartans (1-1) were further depleted by the time they left Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe after a 16-13 loss to Arizona State (2-0).

A pair of starters on defense - sophomore defensive end Jacub Panasiuk and redshirt junior strong-side linebacker Tyriq Thompson - did not make the trip with the team. Additionally, starting running back LJ Scott and starting punter Jake Hartbarger were sidelined during the second half.

"You're always concerned when they go out," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said of Scott and Hartbarger, "but I think they'll be OK.
