Michigan State came back from an early two-goal deficit in the first period Thursday.
But the Spartans didn’t come back from a three-goal deficit in the third period after surrendering three goals before the 4-minute mark in a 6-3 loss to Ohio State in the opening game of the Big Ten hockey tournament at Joe Louis Arena.
“Very disappointed with the season, yep,” Michigan State coach Tom Anastos said. “Disappointing end to it for sure, but it was a disappointing season.”
The Spartans finished 7-24-4.
Ohio State's David Gust scored 25 seconds into the third period during a power play and added another goal at 1:38.
