Michigan State’s athletic program had two positive results among 24 athletes for COVID-19 and none among 32 staff members tested between Dec. 3-9, according to numbers released Friday by the athletic department.
MSU has conducted at least 3,224 COVID-19 clinical PCR tests on athletes and staff members since June. There have been 174 positive tests among at least 2,696 tests on Spartan athletes, and 13 confirmed COVID-19 cases among more than 528 tests among staff members.
Individuals who test positive and remain in isolation will undergo daily check-ins with athletic training staff. Additional services are provided as directed by the medical and administrative staffs, and further testing and physician follow-up is required prior to returning to any level of workouts.
