Michigan State grades: Offense executes smart gameplan, special teams comes up big

EAST LANSING — Free Press sports writer Chris Solari rates Michigan State football on a scale of 1 to 10, after the Spartans’ 40-31 win over Indiana on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

Offense: 8

Brian Lewerke and Darrell Stewart Jr. came to the rescue with big games, and the Spartans generated 442 yards and had just one three-and-out possession. Lewerke played his best game of the season, throwing for 300 yards and three TDs despite only completing 50% of his throws, and ran for 78 yards while making sound decisions on read-options.
