Michigan State glad to close four-game road swing with three wins

PISCATWAY, N.J. -- Michigan State's 78-67 Friday night win over Rutgers will go into the ledger as a win over a team that has finished last in the Big Ten in each of the four seasons since it joined the conference.

But for the Michigan State coaches and players on the Rutgers Athletic Center court on Friday night, the win wasn't one of the ho-hum fashion.

"This was a big win for us, coming on the road, under the circumstances we've been under and playing against a good quality tough team, I consider this not a win, get out of here," Spartans coach Tom Izzo said.
