EAST LANSING - The transition was fast.
Just a month after announcing his commitment to Michigan State in December, Kalon Gervin was on campus in East Lansing.
As an early enrollee, the cornerback from Detroit Cass Tech High School began working out with the team and went through spring practice.
"When I first got here I really had to get a grasp of the playbook, so I wasn't playing as fast as I wanted to play," Gervin said after practice on Tuesday. "Once I really got the playbook down, I started playing a lot faster."
Gervin was a four-star prospect and the highest-rated recruit in Michigan State's 2018 signing class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
