EAST LANSING — Mel Tucker continues to push Michigan State football players to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
While the Spartans are not at 100%, Tucker said that remains his goal before the Sept. 3 opener at Northwestern.
“We're at about 95% right now,” he said Tuesday. “And I feel good about where we are. … We just have to keep working towards (full team vaccination).”
Tucker's first summer as Spartans coach was interrupted by an outbreak that halted workouts in late July 2020. Then his debut season was cut short with two games against Maryland called off due to COVID issues within the Terrapins’ program.
