EAST LANSING — It has not been an easy season for Cole Chewins.
In turn, it has not been an easy start for Michigan State football’s offense with its veteran left tackle hobbled and hurting.
The junior went from starting 16 straight games as the blindside anchor of the offensive line to sitting out the 19th-ranked Spartans’ season opener against Utah State.
He played one snap against Arizona State and went to the bench.
