EAST LANSING — The thought of sitting out the Pinstripe Bowl never crossed Brian Lewerke’s mind. Friday’s game against Wake Forest will be his swan song as Michigan State football’s starting quarterback.
“I got one more game, the seniors got one more game,” Lewerke said after practice Tuesday. “And we want to be able to come out of here with a win.”
That is coach Mark Dantonio’s goal as well. But he also realizes the Spartans need to find a quarterback before his 14th season begins at home against Northwestern on Sept.
