EAST LANSING — Michigan State football did not discover a No. 1 wide receiver in 2017.
Instead, the Spartans found out they have three who could split the title. And each showed game-breaking, play-making ability.
Quarterback Brian Lewerke displayed trust in throwing to Felton Davis III, Darrell Stewart Jr. and Cody White at any time. And each of those three took turns serving as his primary option, which made it more complex for opposing defenses as they tried to game-plan.
