There were many articles written as National Signing Day was approaching about who the Spartans might be able to lure to the green and white. One player was on nobody’s list was Maverick Hanson, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman from Farmington Hills (Mich.) Harrison High.
Hansen flipped on Signing Day from Central Michigan to Michigan State which was a fast decision because he was offered that morning.
Head coach Mark Dantonio had been thinking about offering him for a while and his gut told him that they needed this guy. When you watch his film, what you witness is a real nasty side from his play.
