Michigan State football's season-opening game against Western Michigan got moved up a day to Sept. 2, another Friday night home kickoff for the Spartans. Start time and broadcast information will be released at a later date.
It will be the eighth time in the past 12 years MSU opens with a Friday night game at home, and the 10th time since 2011 the Spartans will kick off their season with a Friday night game.
The Spartans, who finished 11-2 and ranked No. 8 in the USA Today Sports/AFCA coaches poll, will have seven home games in 2022.
