Mark Dantonio is one of the best coaches in college football. Michigan State went from a middle-of-the-pack football program, at best, before the head coach got to campus in 2007 to a consistent top-three finisher, with the exception of the horrid 2016 season.
Not only is he a magician on the field, but he can develop players off it. Many of the stars you’ve seen on Saturday weren’t just thrown into live action and developed that way, but rather during long offseasons, spring ball and fall camps. Dantonio has developed a reputation as a guy who can take low three-star recruits and turn them into NFL prospects.
