Per the official Michigan State Spartans website, you can subtract 24 hours from the countdown to kickoff.
Rather than the originally scheduled Sept. 3, football season will now begin on Friday, Sept. 2. It will still be a home contest against the Furman Paladins, an FCS school from South Carolina.
The actual kickoff time and TV destination for the contest are yet to be named. It's a return to familiar territory for the Spartans, who will start the season under the Friday night light for the sixth straight season. They've won all of the previous five, and are also 5-0 all-time versus FCS teams.
