Michigan State’s defensive line has taken a big hit this offseason. Besides the long-known losses of Shilique Calhoun, Joel Heath and Lawrence Thomas, Craig Evans and Montez Sweat decided to leave the program for “personal reasons” and Damon Knox decided not to pursue a sixth year of eligibility to focus on a career in law enforcement.

That left a depleted defensive line with just a handful of returning experience, but an impressive 2016 class coming in to help out. It turns out, the incoming freshmen won’t be the only new faces on the defensive line in 2016.
