Michigan State’s 2019 season didn’t go nearly as planned. The Spartans were hoping for Big Ten title contention and instead they got mollywhopped by Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan on their way to a 6-6 regular season.
That disappointing regular season led to a berth in the Pinstripe Bowl where Michigan State was able to eke out a 27-21 victory over Wake Forest which had a red-hot start to the year.
Finishing the season with a 7-6 record wasn’t what the coaching staff had envisioned, especially Mark Dantonio who shuffled up his coaching staff to make up for the deficiencies that were evident last season.
