QB Payton Thorne: The redshirt freshman set a new record for both a first-time starter and a freshman QB with his 325 passing yards in his third appearance. He showed how good he can be once he finds a rhythm, hitting 11 straight passes to end the first half (12 in a row including one in the third quarter) and stretching the field with touchdowns of 45, 26 and 7 yards.
