Michigan Statefootball is without its starting center Saturday for its rivalry game against No. 14 Michigan.
Senior Matt Allen is not in uniform, with sophomore Nick Samac working with starting quarterback Rocky Lombardi and the first-team offense during warmups. Allen is with the team but wearing a track suit.
Allen started last week against Rutgers and in the Spartans’ Pinstripe Bowl win over Wake Forest to end the 2019 season, but Samac made four starts at the end of the regular season when Allen was out with an injury.
