1. Season reaches a new low – in victory
EAST LANSING – There are games that shouldn’t happen for a football program like Michigan State. This was one of them.
A regular season that began with big dreams ended Saturday in a two-thirds empty Spartan Stadium, in a slugfest with 1-10 Rutgers.
It was predictable and appropriate. Two inept offenses, exchanging punts.
What wasn’t predictable is that the Spartans, still nearly four-touchdown favorites, might nearly lose.
