It’s been a rough year for Malik McDowell. The former Michigan State football star suffered injury after injury in 2016, watched his Spartans go 3-9 and he went from first-round lock to second-round pick by the Seahawks.

Heck, at one point in time, McDowell was considered a potential top-10 pick and the best returning defensive lineman in 2016. However, he struggled to stay healthy and some scouts questioned his motor.
Unfortunately, the bright future for McDowell will be put on hold, for the time being, as the Seahawks announced that he was involved in a car accident this past week and will remain home in Michigan getting treatment before eventually joining the team.
