Michigan State football reportedly will host Akron in football, which would complete the Spartans’ 2022 schedule.
According to documents obtained via the Freedom of Information Act by fbschedules.com, the Zips will receive $1.5 million to visit Spartan Stadium on Sept. 10, 2022. The two schools have not played since 1913 and 1914, both MSU wins (41-0, 75-6).
The Spartans also will host Western Michigan (Sept. 3) and visit Boise State (Sept. 17) in the nonconference portion of their schedule in 2022.
