The Old Brass Spittoon is staying home for another year. In what is technically considered a rivalry game, Michigan State and Indiana battled it out for 60 minutes and the Hoosiers continue to be a thorn in the Spartans’ side.
For the past few seasons, Indiana has played the Spartans a similar way, staying in the game until the very end with a chance to win the game.
Michigan State was hoping to avoid the fate that 2016 brought with a disappointing loss and a near-upset in 2017 when the Spartans were turning things around. The Spartans wanted more of last year where they dominated the Hoosiers for most of the game.
