EAST LANSING — Michigan State football has another player entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Redshirt freshman linebacker Ed Warinner Jr. is the ninth Spartan to place his name in the portal since the start of the 2019 season. The 6-foot, 229-pound linebacker is the son of Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner.
The younger Warinner played in seven games, predominantly on special teams, and registered three tackles on kickoffs. The Powell, Ohio, product was listed as the third-string middle linebacker on the depth chart and played in their 27-21 Pinstripe Bowl win over Wake Forest on Friday.
