Elijah Collins kept Michigan State’s offense from being shut out of the All-Big Ten football awards for a second straight year.
The redshirt freshman running back earned third-team honors by the league media Wednesday. Collins leads the Spartans with 892 yards on 201 carries and five TDs after taking over the starting job in the second game of the season. He could become their first 1,000-yard rusher since Jeremy Langford in 2013-14 with a big bowl game performance.
Collins earned honorable mention from the Big Ten’s coaches, while junior wide receiver Cody White picked up honorable mentions from both the coaches and media.
