EAST LANSING — It came down to one final play, a fourth-and-17 red zone pass from Theo Day to Darrell Stewart.
They converted. Michigan State football’s offense won the first scrimmage of preseason camp Friday.
Yet even before that final touchdown that delivered a 38-37 victory, the offensive regulars came away happy and impressed with a rejuvenated performance.
“I think it was one of the best scrimmages the offense has had since I’ve been here for five years,” Lewerke said after practice Monday.
