When Noah Davis committed to Michigan State, he had just watched Josiah Price have one of the most successful and productive careers of any tight end in Spartan history.
Price was graduating following Davis’ redshirt freshman season and some believed he would combine to help keep the momentum going at the tight end position. Davis had the size at 6-4 and about 250 pounds and even started four games in 2017. He finished the season with three catches for 22 yards and had the second-most snaps among tight ends — second to Matt Sokol.
The upside of Davis was intriguing and some even preferred him as the starter over Sokol who struggled to hold on to the ball during his MSU career.
