As soon as the ball was kicked, Michigan had a certain edge. The Spartans, too, were playing with high energy, but the Wolverines just had the pieces on defense that Michigan State couldn’t respond to.
More specifically, the Michigan defense was just too much for the lackluster Michigan State offense. There was a point in time this summer when many believed this year’s offense could have been the best in school history with Brian Lewerke coming back with a vengeance and LJ Scott returning for his senior season along with Felton Davis III.
Not the case so far this season as it seems like the offense has been more and more lethargic as the weeks wear on.
